Pattaya is a compact coastal city east of Bangkok and one of Thailand’s most visited seaside destinations. It’s easy to reach from Bangkok by bus, taxi, or private transfer, and it works well as a base for nearby beaches and islands. Within the city, most places are close and connected by songthaews, taxis, and motorbike taxis.
